Integrating With Other Systems

Integrating With Other Systems

Cartell easily integrates with any home automation, security or lighting system, offering to those systems the protection and convenience of professional vehicle detection. This is because our control units have floating, dry relay contacts.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

One (1) CT-2B control unit
One (1) CT-6 sensor probe

INSTRUCTIONS

You will need two things to have a successful installation:

The manual for your home automation, security or lighting panel
A resistor
(consult your manual for the correct size)

See Figure 1.
CT-2B control unit and CT-6 sensor probeHook the CT-2B to two zone inputs on your panel. If your system’s contacts are normally closed, use terminals 5 & 6 on the CT-2B. At your system’s panel, place a resistor between the terminals in parallel (see your H.A. manual for resistor size).

If your H.A. contacts are normally open, use terminals 6 & 7 on the CT-2B and place a resistor between the terminals in series (see your H.A. manual for resistor size).

Note: Use the power supply that came with the CT-2B to power it rather than relying on the home automation or security panel for power.

FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FROM HAI

The following instructions were written by the technicians at Home Automation, Inc.:
1. Connect the Power supply that came with the CT-2B to terminals 1 and 2 on the Cartell CT-2B control unit.
2. Connect either the NC and C or the NO and C terminals of the Cartell CT-2B control unit to a zone on the HAI board. Install a resistor according to the terminals connected to. If NC and C were used, the resistor should be in series. If NO and C were used, the resistor should be in parallel.
3. On the HAI system, select the proper zone type for the Driveway Sensor. The zone types can be found under Setup>>Installer>>Zones. NOTE: Unless this is to be used for security purposes, the zone type should be set to Auxiliary (Type 64).

SAMPLE AUTOMATION PROGRAMS

The first program example will turn on the outdoor lighting for 20 minutes when the driveway sensor is tripped at night.
WHEN Driveway NOT READY
AND IF DARK
THEN Outdoor Lights ON FOR 20 MINUTES
The next programming example will change the view on a touchscreen to the proper camera when the driveway sensor is tripped.
WHEN Driveway NOT READY
THEN SHOW CAMERA 1 ON TOUCHSCREEN 1
